Distinguished does not require customers to provide personal information to visit our website. If you register and apply for our insurance products, personal information may be provided to us.

Where do we get this information from?
We may receive personal information from you pertaining to you or your customer when:
- you communicate with our Sales Executive team;
- you apply for our insurance products;
- you register to conduct business with us through our online service; and
- you pay for your insurance product.
How do we protect the information provided to us?
For the security of you and your customers, orders on our site are encrypted with SSL Technology assuring visitors that they have reached our authentic site, thereby allowing communications to be encrypted. In order for SSL to work, though, you must have a browser that supports SSL technology. Please note that email may not be encrypted and cannot be considered a secure means of transmitting sensitive information. Distinguished advises that you and your customer should not submit credit card or other information you wish to protect via email.

Despite such safeguards, we believe that any such systems are prone to human and operational error. Who might receive the information we collect?
The information we collect from you is provided to our insurance provider(s) for purposes of administering the insurance product you have requested in your application. The information may be disclosed in the event of a sale of all or substantially all of our assets or the merger of a company(ies) into another entity or any consolidation, share exchange, combination, reorganization, or like transaction in which we are not the survivor. The information we collect from you is not sold to any third parties.
If your information (public information and nonpublic information) is requested by the Department of Insurance, insurance regulatory authorities, law enforcement, or other judicial authorities to assist in a criminal proceeding, we will provide the information to them accordingly.
What can you do to preserve data security?
The following are some steps that can be taken to preserve the security of information:
- Always keep your web browser update-to-date.
- Purchase antivirus and security software to keep your computer safe.
- Ensure you are alone when creating or changing your password for the online Broker Portal.
- Change your password for the online service regularly and utilize a strong and unique password that consist of letters, numbers and symbols.
- If you are logged onto to your account in the online service, do not leave your computer unattended.
- If you access your account online utilizing Wi-Fi, ensure the wireless network is secure.
- If you are accessing your account on a public Wi-Fi, utilize a VPN (virtual private network) to access your account.
Destruction of Records
If the information we collect is no longer needed for the purposes of administering business or supplying the appropriate insurance product you have requested in your application, we will take the appropriate steps to ensure personal information is properly destroyed, erased, or made entirely unreadable.
Privacy of Individuals Under the Age of 13
Our products are not intended to be used by or in connection with children under the age of 13. Distinguished does not market any products or services to children under the age of 13 or knowingly collects personal information from children under the age of 13. If Distinguished obtains actual knowledge that it has obtained personal information from a child under the age of 13, that information will be immediately and permanently deleted from our records.
